I worked at Family Dollar Stores

    Pros

HR tries very hard to change corporate culture. Employee appreciation month included bagels & cream cheese for all employees. Also catered lunch from Mac's speed shop.

    Cons

Revolving door, employees are constantly getting fired throughout the company, mid & upper level management doesn't want to face or deal with making any positive improvements on processes based on negative feedback. No room for growth or opportunity for advancement within the organization. Technology is a joke. Vacation time given is way below industry standard with no additional days given until 7 yrs of service or promotion. But remember...no opportunity for growth.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stop making wasteful decisions on the fly. Back up the timing on ads to reduce the amount of costly mistakes that are hitting the bottom line. Overall markdown process needs to be vastly improved with corporate guidelines in place I.E. set markdown dates for all markdown types with a corporate calendar created at least 6 months out, corporate cadence of markdown depth, corporate markdown selling rules

    Doesn't Recommend
    Negative Outlook
    No opinion of CEO
