Highly supportive coworkers and supervisors, unsupportive upper management

School Based Therapist (Current Employee)

ProsCoworkers are wonderful and supportive, noble work, good benefits, lots of down time in the summer, free continuing education online, able to make your own schedule and it can be flexible as need be

ConsPay is low and they continually decrease it, many barriers to actually doing counseling, tons of paperwork that is never ending, considerably company bureaucracy, long hours during the school year, very high and unreasonable productivity expectations, under lots of pressure from supervisors/managers to meet the unreasonable and unattainable productivity, productivity is tied too much to salary and most of the time productivity is out of the therapist's control, redundancy in paperwork

Advice to Senior ManagementWork harder to understand how difficult your employees' jobs are and what it's like to make such little money but having such an important job and an expensive Master's degree to pay off. Try to find a way to have a reasonable salary instead of low salary + commission; the stress in not being able to control our full salary is very difficult at times.

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend – I'm optimistic about the outlook for this company
