    Pros

good hands-on experience, caring co-workers, good hours, generous vacation time and leave time

    Cons

no training, very hard to get supervision, agency relies on over-worked collegues to provided needed information to perfrom job, too heavy a caseload to do appropriately, HUGE staff turn-over, NO staff development, very little chance for advancement, stagnant pay, no continuing education benefit

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

train staff, provide support, hire adequate staff to fill case load needs, provide appropriate benefits fitting for a social service agency such as continuing education, offer more competitive salaries to hold on to great workers

I have been working at Family Service League part-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

    They take their mission seriously.

    Cons

The inevitable downside of working at at not for profit. Limited earning potential, stringent regulations, budget cuts.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

They need to be a bit mire forward looking and develop their Human Resources/Training Department. They are too big an agency to neglect this function.
