Fannie Mae is important to the secondary mortgage market and affordable housing, but also a soul-crushing place to work.

Compliance & Ethics IV (Current Employee) Washington, DC

ProsGreat compensation and benefits, interesting work.

ConsPetty management, lots of rot in middle management, corporate culture still very old-school.

Advice to Senior ManagementRemove the bureaucratic layers of management to make way for more staff and lower level managers; get rid of poor performers and bad people managers.

I have been working at Fannie Mae

Pros: Easy place to work, low expectations and everyone is generally… Cons: very boring job, with people who lack simple critical thinking… Advice to Senior Management: reward performance rather than time-served More
