Fannie Mae is important to the secondary mortgage market and affordable housing, but also a soul-crushing place to work.

I have been working at Fannie Mae full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Great compensation and benefits, interesting work.

    Cons

Petty management, lots of rot in middle management, corporate culture still very old-school.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Remove the bureaucratic layers of management to make way for more staff and lower level managers; get rid of poor performers and bad people managers.
