Great job if you plan on using the company as a springboard

Life & Financial Specialist (Former Employee)

ProsGood opportunity to gain some experience and then better of jumping ship. Decent benefits with pension plan and 401k plan with matching.

ConsYou will work long hours so be prepared - sometimes 60-70 hours per week even if you are on salary. You also have to commit to a joint sales program where you as a manager have to sell auto, home and life insurance policies and then assign them to an agent and receive zero compensation. The underwriting group in Columbus, OH has not a clue and so it's easier for them to just decline the underwriting decision.

Advice to Senior ManagementStop micro-managing because it's not conducive to a natural and amiable work environment. Hire AP managers who actually have a background in insurance so they can provide proper guidance to performance team and agents. Human Resources needs to genuinely listen to employee complaints and not automatically side with management just because they work with one another. Rather than just pulling rates out of the air do some research and take a look at your competition before deciding what they will be.

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company

Boring work with few challenges and little escape from the same daily monotony, but stable.

I have been working at Farmers Insurance Group full-time for more than 3 years

Pros: 401k is vested immediately. The HelpPoint offices have ping pong in the break rooms.… Cons: Claims jobs are tedious and really never change. You will be doing the same thing every day, with very few challenges (except to work faster).… Advice to Senior Management: Stop making decisions without asking employees who actually do the work how it will affect them.
