Fastenal Employee Review

Current Employee – been working at Fastenal full-time for more than 3 years

Pros – With Fastenal you have much more than just another job. A person can truly build a career. As long as one doesn't mind hard work. The tools to succeed are readily available to those that wish to learn. You can make a great living by dedicating yourself to Fastenal.

Cons – If i had one negative statement to make about Fastenal it would be in regards to antiquated procedures at the store level. Fastenal has one of tge best Point of Sale syatems I have seen. Stores need to learn how to use it to its full potential.

Advice to Senior Management – I think that the way hiring is done should be reviewed. GM's need more control and responsibility on hiring potential employees. As a company we preach a lean, efficient process, but on hiring we bottle neck the emploment of 15 or more branches to one man, the District Manager. Having your emploees take ownership hasn't failed you yet, and I feel that as a company we would benefit from this small change...GO BIG BLUE!
