A good but very expensive learning experience

Pune (India)

Former Employee – worked at Faurecia full-time for more than 7 years

Proslearning experience:
Overview in interior systems
how not to handle team and company as a manager

ConsNo respect for personal time of employees
Highly incompetent middle management
No ambitious plans for local markets

Advice to Senior ManagementFor the pune location, there seem to be 2 major problems

1. There are no ambitious (at least visible) plans to expand in the local market.
The start as an offshore center is great but expanding the company at a location without targeting the local market seems pointless. Good engineers would not want to stay in an offshore job for long, And if you keep a pool of sub standard engineers, it will be of no use for any expansion purposes. And if there are some plans to target the local market, involve the employees in that and let them know their future provided they stay with Faurecia.

2. The middle management: The middle management is comprised of the employees that have worked the longest in company. And although these people probably did a reasonable job as engineers and as team leads for a team of 5-6 engineers, they do not have any attributes of a manager. Due to this the company is being run like a labor market.

So I guess get some competent people as managers and make and share plans with the engineers.

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend
