I have been working at FedBid full-time for more than a year

Pros

This company is built on a solid business model and had a good future ahead of it. The entry level positions in all departments require long hours and difficult work which is perennially under-appreciated. However, those with the patience and diligence to stick it out will see themselves pleasantly rewarded.

The work is generally exciting and long term prognosis for all is positive provided you work hard.

Cons

The senior management team is in somewhat of a transition time frame, and communication is lacking regarding the company's future plans. However, upper management is very capable and has the best interests of the company at heart.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Cut unnecessary employees, develop and enforce long term internal growth plans and communicate them to the lower-level workforce - provide incentives for those who work hard and provide results

I have been working at FedBid

    Pros

FedBid offers it's employee's good benefits and the chance to move up quickly to positions that may give a boost to an entry level resume.

    Cons

The pay is extremely sub-par for the DC metro area. You will quickly find out that although you may be promoted quickly and given increased responsibility, your pay will not reflect this. You will not be able to take any time off in the busy season (July-Sept). Nepotism runs rampant within this company.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Increase compensation drastically.

I have been working at FedBid

    Pros

Since they work on a single website which they have to maintain so someone who is interested in doing same work for ever should be happy.
HR is kind off helpful .

    Cons

    Too monotonous.
IT team sucks. Some of the senior members consider themselves to be the whole and sole. No flexibility and managers have no power.
No appreciation for work and no performance review. If some one interested in going in the morning and coming in the evening without any motivation join the band.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Please have some transparency. At-least if someone (senior members) leave suddenly without any reasons please make people aware what is happening.
Please motivate .May you don't want to increase salaries but simple words will not charge anything.
IT team managers please motivate your team with encouraging words and some performance reviews.
