I worked at FedEx Office

Pros

The promotion opportunities within the centers were fair. District Manager focus on promoting within which was a postive.

Cons

Competency of leaders were always in question. The salary and rewarding employees are a negative at Fedex Office.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Increase salaries and hourly pay of employees and this will decrease the turnover.

An opportunity to build professionalism, but only a stepping stone to becoming a professional

I have been working at FedEx Office

    Pros

Good pay for a service/retail level job, stores in every major metro area if you want to move, more professional than most retail / service jobs, clients include many sales reps (if you're interested in getting into professional sales), clients include many managers of big companies (if you're interested in networking), clients include small business / start-up executives (if you're interested in that kind of career),

    Cons

You'll probably never make more than what $14 / hr is worth in 2012, almost 2000 stores and each differs greatly because operating procedures are modified or even ignored on a store to store basis, bonus requirements have become almost impossible to achieve , hiring wages are less than what they used to be and barely half for management compared to even five years ago, many tenured center managers have become complacent / indifferent and do minimum work failing to develop good employees or a successful store

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

CM's: cooperate with each other to achieve monthly district profit goals, spend time 1 on 1 with your TM's and try developing them for mastery of their job and/or future promotion even if out of he company, DM's: Be more aggressive about firing fruitless CM's and ask TM's where the problems are in district performance, MD's: get to know your people better, even if its over phone or e-mail, find the most outstanding employees in your region, help them get promoted and learn what drives them so you can instill that in others, VP's and Operations: Eliminate POM and pay CM's and TM's bonuses for up-selling and developing relationships with high-volume accounts

    I worked at FedEx Office

    Pros

    Benefits, Bonuses, Team Work, Stability

    Cons

No opportunity for advancement, crazy hours, no regard for your personal life

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Show appreciation to the ones that count- your front line. The team members in your centers are the base of the company. They are what the customer sees, hears, and why the customer decides to return. I feel that sometimes you forget just how important your hard workers at a center level are.
