    Pros

    Very laid back, but with opportunities for go getters. There are lots of opportunities to go to different work groups.

    Cons

    Lower salary, but there is education assistance. Memphis has brutal weather. The average age is very old as many people have been at fedex for 25+ years

    Expand internationally more aggresively

    I worked at FedEx full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

    There are some and always have been some great people that work at this company. I have built some long and lasting relationships with many of them.

    Cons

    For more than a decade this company has had a high rate of turnover and their management is well compensated when their employees are downsized and given pay cuts. The company has a good year and employees dont get a bonus and have even received pay cuts. This company goes through predictable cycles of a few good years and then a few bad years revenue wise. The troubles all come from management - they are arrogant and not focused. They tell you how important the culture is at this company but they are telling you this from their rather large ivory towers.

    Don't be fooled this company has no loyalty to you... 99% of the 30+ people I know that used to work there have moved on to better jobs elsewhere with more pay and more opportunity. While 99% of the people I know that still work there are in the same jobs or only made lateral moves or one bump in position. Good place to just collect a paycheck that will never change.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Figure out what your customers need, figure out how to do more than shipping... you buy companies and new services every year and run them into the ground and they barely stay afloat. Figure out why UPS kicks your butt at brick and mortar while you squandor the biggest brick and mortar network in the business.
