    I have been working at FedEx full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

    Great benefits and if you do your job (not even well) you can count on staying employed. The salary is competitive and the company is good at what it does.

    Many good managers - great work-life balance. They really do care about their staff.

    Cons

    There are a lot of old timers (20+ yrs) that won't quit - no matter how many buy outs are offered. This is a constant frustration since there is little focus put on getting ahead of the competition in the digital arena. Many middle management are stone walls for progress and are overly concerned with (outdated) process adherence and internal metrics that only impact year end internal goals - not based on progress in the market. There are some GREAT managers - but a bad managing director can and often will skunk up the teams beneath them.

    More meetings than are needed and far too many obstacles to innovation.

    If you like a fast pace and modern tech - you need to look into the marketing team - the Services/TechConnect side will only frustrate you.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Allow open feedback (like this web site) from employees in order to hold bad middle management accountable for their poor performance. Stop using employee surveys that don't seem to get to the root of employee frustrations.
