I have been working at FedEx part-time (more than 10 years)

Pros

Two of the best reasons to work at FedEx are teamwork and learning. As a team in the Memphis Hub, our collective goal is make sure our customers are satisfied. Working together allows us to achieve this. Learning allows us to better perform our duties( individual and other wise) efficiently. Knowing our customers needs and being able to both execute a plan and anticipate change means we will succeed at our duties. Teamwork and learning are two of the most important experiences at the Memphis World Hub.

Cons

There are always things that some will be dissatisfied with....maintaining focus in these situations is key. You will also need a rain suit and extra layers as the temperature drops :)

I have been working at FedEx full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

Largest employer in the area, you can survive if you are a deadwood

    Cons

Bureaucratic, non-transparent, professionals need to patronize a lot to climb up the ladders, the process for career development is not well laid out, mixed signals in grooming a leader while hiring another, hard work is overlooked unless exclusively sold to the upper management on a regular basis.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Be transparent about the decisions you make; hiring MDs, re-org, etc.

    Negative Outlook

    Pros

Great people to work with, weekly pay. Flexible schedule

    Cons

Very little room for advancement. Low moral.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The loaders are just as important as the drivers, you should pay them at least 11.00 hourly, especially when you cut their part time hours even shorter on a continuous basis.
