I have been working at Federal Government

    Pros

Great benefits and good pay commensurate to the area. Despite sequestration and the financial uncertainties in the Defense sector, there is still a need to fill qualified applicants into long-term positions.

    Cons

The commute can be long if working in DC. For many, this alone is the major factor in working for the government in Washington, DC.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Increase the scope and responsibility for motivated employees. Provide mentorship programs and initiatives/compensation that value the contributions and ideas of your employees. Give accurate and timely counseling, both positive and areas for improvement.
