need to be exactly punctual to actually be paid above minimum wage, strange hours

    Pros

    Good opportunity to learn from a wide variety of products and processes. Employees at the manufacturing locations normally are very knowleadgeble and good to work with.

    Cons

    Turnover is very high and employees are overloaded all the time.

    Consider balancing employee responsibilities and reducing management layers.

    Pros

    A good benefits package makes up for lower than industry standard salaries.

    Cons

    Like most large corporations, highly impersonal, no worker loyalty.
    Don't expect to make a difference, corporation is managed strictly to maximize Carl Icahn's portfolio. New ideas are routinely rejected.
    Don't think that if you're salaried you won't be expected to work holidays - depending on your position you may also be asked to give up vacations without warning.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Bring some of the creativity and innovative thinking that is used to create dynamite products to market to the way those products are manufactured. The Henry Ford methods of 1913 aren't going to cut it in today's global economy.
