I worked at Ferguson Enterprises full-time for more than a year

Pros

I worked at the Shared Services Center in Newport News, VA. We had a lot of fun to break the monotany such as random music playing over the center's loudspeaker while people danced around their desks, summer cookouts, office olympics, fun meetings. The perks included having tuition paid for up front for classes taken at Thomas Nelson Community College, being paid for volunteering in company sponsered charity work

Cons

I can't think of any cons.

I have been working at Ferguson Enterprises full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

National company with locations in every major city, family like atmosphere with co workers, excellent trainee program with plenty of opportunities for advancement if willing to work hard and relocate.

Company continues to grow organically and through acquisitions which creates great management opportunities for Trainees and college grads.

Excellent starting salary and competitive bonuses as you move into management positions.

    Cons

Long hours and difficult industry that has experienced its ups and downs in the US housing market. Management doesn't always appreciate life work balance depending on their specific philosophy. Working 6:30 to 5:45 and being questioned when taking a sick day once a year can make one feel under appreciated. With that said, other managers appreciate the work life balance and can be great mentors.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Continue to drive innovation in the workplace and remember that a good work environment makes for a more productive workforce.

    Pros

Stable outlook, best in industry, and good people. Overall a very good place to start if you are interested in working in industrial wholesale.

    Cons

Willingness is a serious requirement and will remain so for some time afterwards. It can also be tedious work at times.
