I worked at Fidelity Investments full-time (more than 10 years)

Pros

Offers good training and pay.

Cons

Senior Mgmt constantly making changes that are poorly communicated. Some who have made it to high senior levels are very un-professional. ie yelling, loud phone converstations even behind closed doors.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Look out for burn-out. Expectations are 50 hours + each week especially for those who work with global associates.

    Pros

Generous salary with bonus on top of it. Very generous contributions to 401K. Good technology and opportunities to learn new things

    Cons

Constant downsizing and job re-locations, (which was just another way to downsize). Major effort going on company wide to replace veteran empolyees with college students. Used to be a great place to work - many years ago. Now it is not, so I averaged that out and gave company an "OK" rating.

Good start in financial services industry. Not a place to stay long term really.

    Good training
    Paid study for exams

    Cons

No reward or consideration of education or outside accomplishments
    Boring work
Mid level managers are just people who have been around too long and have nothing better to move on to
Micro managing to the fullest extent on every level
