I have been working at Fidelity Investments full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Chance to earn some small bonuses during the quarter and at year's end. Company would show appreciation by catering food for employees from various restaurants during tax season. Obtained Series 7 and 63 registrations. Worked with a good group of people. Learned a lot via training and by being on the phone all day with customers from all 50 states. No take home work. Able to leave the job behind each day at market close.

    Cons

Worked was mundane. Even as a Trader, one is stuck in a cubicle all day with a headset on shagging phone calls. Listening to abusive and ignorant customers gets old real quick. Little room for advancement. Company is big on looks. You won't land an Advisor position in one of the retail investment centers unless you look like a Ken doll.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Look at people's ability and qualifications more when it comes to promoting instead of golfing buddies and people's looks. Upper management always seemed to be changing and the people brought in were from the outside. What happened to promoting from within?
