I worked at Fidelity Investments full-time (less than a year)

Pros

Good steady base salary and benefits. Matching of 7% and 10% profit sharing after 1 yr.

Cons

Bait and switch of promising you account executive role with an IR position saying that you need tolerance the FIdelity way first before promotion to AE role. Once in IR role, it's really ur luck whether position opens up and ur relationship with ur manager and your numbers compare to the rest of the IR ranks. (Have 8 yrs of exp) I don't need this crap...

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Hire people for the right position initially based on their experience. Don't do the whole bait and switch telling prospective employees that they'll start somewhere lower bc they need to learn the fidelity way while learning can be done while doin the job.

I have been working at Fidelity Investments full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Associates are encouraged to work independently and think creatively. Asd would be expected, the firm is conservative. Open to new ideas. Opportunity to make a career.

    Cons

Because the company is so large, jobs at some firms have been split among more than one associate at Fidelity. It sometimes feels difficult to cut through the red tape and get things done.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Empower associates more. Eliminate the red tape. Working groups are great, but slow down the process and sometimes prevent things from getting done. Pressure to deliver sometimes affects the quality of the finished product, due to budget.
