Former Employee - Full Trader in Salt Lake City, UT

I worked at Fidelity Investments full-time (more than 10 years)

Pros

Good benefits, decent salary. Good training.

Cons

No matter how you slice it, you are working in a CALL CENTER. This means you will be micromanaged, treated like a child, and forced to work overtime because the firm refuses to staff properly during tax season. You can choose the flavor of calls you want (i.e. trading, advisory, service, retirements) but at the end of the day its still just about AHT, ACW, and the same old call center crap.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get with the 90's-rotate reps between inbound calls and email/chat functions.

I have been working at Fidelity Investments full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

You get to learn about a lot of the rules in the industry. Pretty good training, and very extensive. They have flexible schedules and working 4 days a week at 10 hours a day is a perk.

    Cons

Phone center with nearly no time to breathe between calls. Can get pretty tedious towards the end of a 10 hour shift.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

If you're wondering why employee turnover is so high, it's because you overwork and underpay compared to the industry.
