Pros – I could learn about the real world of investing without the pressure-cooker atmosphere of wall street (where I am now).
Cons – Bureaucracy is always a problem, especially in a large company. Yet, like a family, it provides a safe place to learn and grow up professionally.
Advice to Senior Management – Spend a little more time listening -- even if you don't learn anything, you'll help the newcomer feel better, and therefore work better (for you).
