I worked at Fifth Third part-time (less than an year)

Pros

Pay, great co-workers and customers

Cons

Sales quotas were too high, they force you to hound customers to open new accounts. If a person has a negative balance in their checking account, do I really need to harass them to open a savings account??????

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Ease up on hard sell of accounts, people may be more prone to open one without all the pushy sales techniques.

    Pros

Steady employment over the last ten years through many cuts. The bank does seem to promote from within its own ranks.

    Cons

Upper management's actions do not always follow their words.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I have been working at Fifth Third as an intern (less than an year)

    Pros

-Big emphasis on interns in college ... a big of a con as well with this
    -Good pay for interns
    -Downtown location is very desirable

    Cons

-5/3 lacks diversity in a major way; college interns mostly from Miami U or Xavier
    -Work environment is strict

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Please hire some diversity... Why doesn't 5/3 reach out to liberal schools, or HBCUs?
