I worked at Fifth Third full-time (more than 3 years)

Pros

Great pay and benefits. A lot of opportunity to move up and expand. They provide some training to allow you to be better at your job.

Cons

Its like a small town were rumors fly and get distorted. Higher management can be a bit on the backwards side. They will fire you just if someone recommends it.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Make sure you hear both sides of a story before you change their life forever.

Beware of severe Micro Managing(at least in Northern Michigan)

I worked at Fifth Third full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Really great place to learn. Lots of opportunities to move up as employee retention is extremely low.

    Cons

In Northern Michigan the average branch manager last two years. During my three years spent as branch manager, there were not any branches in the Traverse City area to keep the same manager on average most had three different managers. If you can adapt to micro-managing and feeling as your supervisor does not trust you, this is the right company for you.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Do something about problems, rather than just move them around. Recognize trends and deal with them. I truly believe Fifth Third is a great company to work for, but the experience I had, I would not suggest any hire in the retail area of Northern Michigan
