    Pros

Continual training, fair wage increases yearly, allow some freedoms for a manager at the branch level to run things how they see effective

    Cons

Top down leadership has little "real" communication. Decisions come through to change accounts and how things operate without explaining to the branches why they are making those decisions. Their policies on overdrafts and time of processing things tend to make customers angry because they are somewhat more complicated to understand and more likely to aquire fees.

    Advice to Management

You must have purpose behind your decisions. "Start With Why" a book by Simon Sinek talks about the fact that all decisions need to be run through a certain value system of beliefs to effectively gain a "following" or customers or etc. At Fifth Third it seems almost exclusively like decisions are based 100% on making the bank more money immediately. That's not bad. Its a business and it needs to profit. However, you are missing the boat. You have to start with purpose and why to be the bank you are being and then move into policy making and account structuring and employee training programs etc. You're doing it backward and it will always make things harder. Harder to retain customers. Harder to retain employees especially. This company has insane potential to be a huge vehicle of good in the banking world. But sadly right now its just "another bank out for itself". Which I do not believe, but many of our customers/former customers do believe that way.

    Pros

Great benefits and environment to work in.

    Cons

Systems inadequate in need of upgrades. Retail and Operations often at odds possibly due to pressures of structure at each end. Much stress could be resolved in this area.

    Advice to Management

Listen more closely to people in the trenches doing the work and respond appropriately
