Pros

Public service in an interesting and challenging environment. Opportunities to move into very different roles, eg. legal to policy. Focus on training and development. Good prospects for employment after.

Cons

Very centralised and hierarchical management structure, resulting in bureaucracy and lack of empowerment. Right now it is going through a lot of externally imposed change.
