Current Employee – been working at Firestone Complete Auto Care full-time for more than 3 years
Pros – Good benefits, the possibility to make real good money (if your in the right place at the right time) and a chance to work for corporate. The company has a promote from within atmosphere, if you have a bachelors degree you can go pretty much anywhere.
Cons – You are not in control of your own destiny! Techs (who are paid like crap) have to want to make money for you to make money. Very tough sales goals, and should you hit them, next year will be that much more unattainable. Very depended on market conditions beyond your control. Cars are getting much harder to fix and requiring much less repair and an overall negative cust experience.
Advice to Senior Management – Stop rewarding great prior year exceptional performance by raising the bar to those exceptional performance, Make goals more attainable and reward those who shatter them! Understand that market conditions change and this industry is heavily dependent on them.
