I have been working at Firestone Complete Auto Care full-time (More than a year)

Pros

Pros? lol GOOD JOKE. Only good thing about working their is having a job

Cons

-I came from Sears...well sad to say but Sears is a way better company to work for!!! -Workers are truly not treated right & the pay is very unfair. Those techs work their asses off for nothing. - Managers always ask for favors but techs dont get paid for them. -Their flag hour pay is a slap to the face. - If they tell you youre going to be promoted it will take a year till you actually get that position. -ANY ENTRY LEVEL TECH THEY HIRE THEY SAY YOU WILL BE DOING MAINTENANCE!!! PREPARE TO PUT AWAY 300 TIRES A WEEK, SWEEP THE SHOP AND DRIVE CUSTOMERS AROUND.

Advice to Management

STOP LYING TO ENTRY LEVEL TECHS

I have been working at Firestone Complete Auto Care full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Direct store leadership is nice. They sometimes will pay for your ASE tests They bend over backwards to make customers feel welcome

    Cons

Customers tend to get recommendations that they declined for free by calling the customer affairs line. Many jobs pay half of what they do at other shops, a good example is a brake service pays .8 hr including machining rotors, and no additional labor for replacing and bleeding calipers. Good Luck getting a pay increase. Spend a couple of days per year at company sanctioned Indoctrination conferences.

    Advice to Management

Extend your "Promise to care" to your associates by actually paying them book times.

I have been working at Firestone Complete Auto Care (Less than a year)

    Pros

If you have bachelor's degree and willing to work constantly, you can move up.

    Cons

Long working hours, no Saturdays off, corporate rules keep the front short on sales staff (making for stressful days at the cost of customer service), low pay, sales goals that are based on how many credit card apps you can process and how many complete vehicle inspections you can sell and not much more.

    Advice to Management

Drop the emphasis on the credit card (it becomes pushy), change policy to properly staff stores (four people covering three shifts seven days a week with no Saturdays off is ridiculous), make it a policy to close the doors and closing time by getting customers rental cars or book jobs realistically so that days don't stretch past an hour after closing time.
