I worked at First American

Pros

...had one of the best managers ever...professional, not a micromanager, and very patient which is extremely rare these days. Good people, training, work-environment, benefits, pay was average.

Cons

Unfortunately, my Department got outsourced which was a big bummer. Would have liked to build a career here. Hard to do so now in the global economy.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

My direct manager was great. Upper management was a bit bogged down in reports, systems, and somewhat isolated from the rank and file workers.

I liked the job, but company wide raise and bonus freeze really killed morale.

    I worked at First American

    Pros

Co workers are excellent and cafeteria is great place to eat cheap. There is also some chance for travel

    Cons

Too many to mention here but key ones are:
    Lack of recognition
Impossible to get things done due to politics
Decentralization has left the company without a central identity or focus

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get rid of Dennis Gilmore as FAST AS POSSIBLE. His short sighted and dictatorial rule will eventually kill the creativity and loyalty of any good people left. The new head of HR is also worthless

    Doesn't Recommend
    Disapproves of CEO
