Former Employee – worked at First American
Pros – If you want a "Big Company " name on your resume, this is a great place to start. There are plenty of great opportunities for the right person, if you are willing to apply yourself. Employee morale is just like any other place - you either fit in or you don't. I will say that they have great benefits.
Cons – Way too top-heavy. Since it is a fast paced environment, management frowns upon excessive time off. Of course by excessive, I mean more than 3 or 4 days off in a row. There is A LOT of nepotism throughout mid-level management and above. The work / life balance is not that great. Many times you are asked to work late and on the weekends for no additional pay.
Advice to Senior Management – Care more about doing what you say you are going to do and stop treating people like numbers.
