I worked at First Market Bank

Pros – Above average pay and decent benefits, great hours if you can get out of the branches and into admin. or operations.

Cons – very, very political....promotions seem to be based on previous working relationships, at First Market, or more often at other banks...first market has let several talented folks move along with no apparent desire to retain talent, leaving them with only average to below average performers in several key management positions.

hours at the branches don't work for teammates with families....open until 7pm and 9 - 2 on Saturdays (nearly every Saturday)....

Advice to Senior Management – focus less on being the next big bank, and celebrate your value and association with Ukrop's. Focus less on what made Wachovia work (did it work? look what it's done to them)

celebrate diversity of experience rather than promoting folks who've worked for Wachovia
