Current Employee - Customer Solutions in Hickory, NC
Current Employee - Customer Solutions in Hickory, NC

I have been working at Fiserv full-time (less than an year)

Pros

Stable pay and hours
Insurance is alright
Place is clean

Cons

Lack of communication with supervisors
Feeling no one really cares they can replace you anytime
You feel like a number and really low empathy for customers
Asking for a day off is not a guarantee. If you have medical appointments, kids etc you have to stay on your supervisor to make sure your day off was approved. If they forget you get the point.
Management pushes back when there is a problem needing a supervisor. They leave you hanging with unsatisfied customers on the line.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Make employees feel like they actually matter and are not just a number. As a mom it is hard to go to this job and come home any kind of happy. If you need a day off and it is not planned you geta point. Sometimes things happen, and even giving two weeks advance notice of a day off is not guaranteed to happen. Listen to your employees.

    Pros

The people are the best thing about the company. There's a strong sense of comradery. The PTO is also pretty awesome.

    Cons

I think there's still work to do in making the company one Fiserv. They should continue efforts to bridge the gaps between some of the groups that came from other companies. But I think overall, that's happening slowly but surely.

I worked at Fiserv full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

There is a paycheck twice a month.
    They do reviews.
They have a lot of work to do.

    Cons

The atmosphere, morale and overall management of the Fiserv organization is not conducive to growth either personally or professionally. Each February, and sometimes again in June/July, there are layoffs at Fiserv. The bottom line is the driver for this company and how the work gets done is of no concern to management. Furthermore, people are promoted to leadership positions with no leadership ability. Employees are not valued and human resources does not address issues with management.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Realize that the feedback from clients and the feedback from employees is essentially the same; to improve client feed-back, employee feedback must improve and the only way to do that is to value both employees and clients. The alternative is a shrinking of the company (which may actually be the objective). Management is not straight forward with employees and does not provide information as to the company's future to inspire confidence in the employees. The values statements are great, however they are not exhibited by the leadership at the different business units and hurts the organization as a whole.
