I worked at Five Star Quality Care

    Pros

Have the chance to work in a close team environment. Work closely with resident and family members. Promote discharge within the CCRC environment.

    Cons

Poor communication or follow up from area or regional directors. The company has no system in place that promotes clinical growth or rewards hard work. Compensation is poor, benefits are poor. Therapists are expected to produce at a high level without the backing of the company. This includes lack of staffing, poor equipment and technology resources, no office manager or therapy technicians. The corporate human resource department is chaotic, understaffed, and very difficult to contact. The corporation focuses on harsh tactics/ bullying to promote compliance instead of praising or rewarding hard work. Poor executive leadership and vision for the company.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Have a vision and plan to not only make the company profitable, but make it a desireable place to work. Attempt to retain quality therapists with competitive salaries, solid programming, educational opportunities, up to date technology and equipment, and improved communication within the corporation.
