I have been working at FiveStars full-time (more than an year)

Pros

+Laid back culture: beer pong in the office friday, foosball etc.
+Cool founders: young but really smart and motivated
+Challenging work but cool work
+Growing like crazy, went nationwide in the last few months

Cons

+Start-ups can be a grind... gotta hustle to survive
+There isn't 100% of internal processes in place yet. Still figuring out some policies, HR, culture etc. Causes some frustration but things seem like they are getting better

    I have been working at FiveStars full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

    Family camaraderie, catered lunches and a breakfast and lunch bar when there is not catering, jeans and casual clothes to work everyday (unless you are in sales, so they are a bit more buttoned up), outdoor deck with foosball table, nap room, fun and quirky people, and dog friendly!

    Cons

    As a startup, you can expect long hours. However, work doesn't always feel like work since people are always hanging out, playing music, or enjoying a beer as they work.

    I like turtles!

    I have been working at FiveStars full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

    I've been working at FiveStars for about 8 months and have loved every day of it. I love the culture, and the opportunity to own projects that I would never have been given elsewhere. There are crazy hectic times, and there are fun relaxed times. What's important, and keeps me satisfied, is that we all go through them together -- as a team.

    Cons

    Talk to anyone at a start-up and they will tell you that it's a struggle to maintain a healthy work-life balance. FiveStars is no different. You have to consciously make the effort to put aside your phone and take a nap at Dolores Park.

    No advice. I believe in you, as much as you believe in me =]
