Pros

Company is trying to re-invent itself. Losses are improving.

Cons

The culture is changing from a regional family bank into a big bank culture which slows the pace of adaptability. External influences from government regulators and investors make for quickly shifting priorities. Difficult to get things done.

Advice to Management

Figure out a way to align human resources to work on highest priority items

    Pros

Pay is decent. Can have some scheduling flexibility. Great place to work if you're content to just follow marching orders.

    Cons

A closely held company, management feels and strongly reacts to stock market fluctuations, very poorly. Little support for Branch Managers.

    Advice to Management

Listen to your branch employees when they offer feedback. The bank should allow for "bottom up" feedback.

  2. Once a great company to work for, now just struggling to survive.

    Pros

The people you work with along with a decent benefits plan and average vacation time.

    Cons

Family owned and managed which allows for tough advancement into senior management if you are not a close family friend.

    Advice to Management

To many bad business decision shot from the hip have cost your company great loss. Maybe by interacting with employees and following common business practices that have been proven to work you would not be in the mess you are in. I have seen alot of the finest employees leave or be let go by a management team that has no idea of the great talent they let go.
