Pros

Nothing special. If you can put up with the micro managers you can have a decent work life balance

Cons

You will experience and meet worlds best ' Micro-managers'

Lot of old timers with poor banking skills

even the breaks you take for toilet/coffee will show up on performance review

Advice to Management

You guys need a microscope to see who is doing what and let some fat go home..

Hire good skills, pay them better and get a work done

    Pros

plenty of IT work on the horizon, if market conditions improve in mortgage industry

    Cons

Lack of vision and poor decision making by senior IT leadership.
    Lack of growth opportunities.

    Advice to Management

Talk with front line IT employees, empower development teams to self manage, and goals will be accomplished. Current heavy handed, micro managing at mid management level is stiffing innovation and ownership of work by development teams. Collaboration is simply effective communication and coordination. Don't over complicate it.

    Pros

Company is trying to re-invent itself. Losses are improving.

    Cons

The culture is changing from a regional family bank into a big bank culture which slows the pace of adaptability. External influences from government regulators and investors make for quickly shifting priorities. Difficult to get things done.

    Advice to Management

Figure out a way to align human resources to work on highest priority items
