Overall positive experience.

I worked at FleishmanHillard as an intern (less than a year)

Pros

Great experience for those looking to get into PR. Very friendly team and eager to help you in any way they can. You are exposed to the ins and outs of PR and there are often opportunities to learn new software. Usually opportunities to help in other practice groups as well if you take initiative.

Cons

Lots of red tape and secrecy, especially when it came to hiring after the internship. Company as a whole isn't usually willing to take too many risks. Intern duties are fun and challenging at first, but then become repetitive and boring as time goes on. Fairly strict corporate culture depending on department.

Change compensation systems to help employees have more ownership/stock and reward performance, not time in job or position
