    Pros

It is the only hospital in the area and therefore pays the highest salaries for nurses. Great professional and knowledgeable staff . Patients come to FAHC from all over VT and upper NY state. FAHC is an academic medical center with 430 + beds and a level 1 trauma center.

    Cons

There is no real clinical ladder in place for registered nurses. The hospital was unionized (RN's and LPN's) recently due to a variety of issues...staffing levels, low salaries, overtime, etc. Morale, hopefully, has increased since I left in 2006. Working with the residents and interns can be problematic depending on your point of view......

    Advice to Management

Talk to staff and really communicate what is happening and what is projected to happen to FAHC>
