Current Employee - Operations Supervisor in Milpitas, CA

I have been working at Flextronics full-time for less than a year

Pros

Average pay for tactical work, thinking not required

Cons

If you are someone who likes to do what is told, like working with a bunch of robots, not-so-bright, not-so-ambitious, and not-so-talented people, then this is the place for you. Depressing environment, with old office furnitures, filthy bathrooms, no office supplies, no kitchen supplies, and dungeon-like facility. No room for growth. Arrogant people that has worked there all their lives and know nothing better.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Please hire intelligent, talented and professional individuals who can make a difference and fire those who are useless.

I have been working at Flextronics full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Only place to make $15/hr without a college degree and/or some technical skills these days. If you are good at phones and sales, this is a great job.

    Cons

Don't expect training on the phones. Training is on customer service and general information that totally does not prepare you for the job, and once you start the job, your coworkers will be too busy to help you learn how to solve the particular customer service problems you get. So you'll end up just exchanging lots of phones because you don't know what is wrong with them. You will also try desparately to upsell upsell upsell, even though many customers need absolutely nothing, or worse, are coming to you with their 2nd or 3rd defective advice - but you are supposed to upsell upsell upsell. The Verizon employees are not nice to you, management would come in every week or so and observe you (intimidating), then critique it to death, but not really offer any support.

I have been working at Flextronics full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

You get to learn all the time, some thing new about Cell phones.

    Cons

Raises are not something important. Bonus pay is getting harder to recevice. The team works very hard with hours that are all over the place. No routine, the schedules are so different every week. All team member get there days and hours to work mixed up. The Managers and Supervisors arrive late and leave early every week, but tell the team to not be tardy.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The managers and supervisors should be good communicators with the team and customers.
