I worked at Florida Blue full-time (more than an year)

Pros

Good benefits, salary and other amenities on the Deerwood Campus.

Cons

Contractors ruled the Siebel teams during my time there. We spent more time on diversity training than transfer of knowledge to entry-level employees. There was a lot of tension between employees and contractors because obviously contractors want to have job security. Even the managers played dirty in favor of making themselves look better.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Provide formal training for new employees to make them feel apart of the team rather than laying them off after your off-shore teams refuse to work as one.

I have been working at Florida Blue as a contractor (less than an year)

    Pros

Florida Blue is your typical conservative, corporate company. As a contractor you are able to enjoy many of the perks that full-time staffers are regarded as a member of the team.

    Cons

As a contractor, your term is dependent on budgets (or budget cuts in some cases) and not necessarily on your performance. Very process heavy environment and efficiency is not at the forefront.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Remember that contractors have not come through a formalized training regimen. Some time spent on onboarding can go a long way.
