No opinion of CEO

Pros

- It's a job
- I get paid

Cons

- Constant changing requirements for invoicing and progress
- Elitist attitude from upper management
- Few if any pats on the back for doing anything right
- Struggling for pay raises
- Staff meetings are ineffective and a waste of time
- Training is incomplete and unorganized.

Advice to Management

Get back into the field and get a real world look at what's going on. Take into consideration what the changes you make are impacting your support staff. A pat on the back goes a long way.

    Pros

Excellent opportunities. If you are willing to work hard, you will be rewarded accordingly. Great knowledge shaing. Sincere desire to see employees succeed. Employees are encouraged to challenge and think for themselves.

    Cons

The up and down cycles of the E&C world. Very difficult to hire and train only to have to lay someone off due to the market being down.

    Advice to Management

Consider that it's 2011 and wearing a 3 piece suit doesn't not mean 'top notch, on the ball, management material' any more. Casual dress appropriate for the office is more comfortable and less expensive for employees.

  2. Fluor is a company that promotes balance in work and personal life.

    Pros

Some of the best reasons to work at Fluor is the colaboration of team work, sharing of knowledge, and the challenging project that we work on.

    Cons

In some cases, managers only manage and are not leaders. Some times people are not meeting their potential and are stuck in a position that do not challenge them and they loose interest in the work and the company. Fluor is a great company, but some times they do not recognize talent.

    Advice to Management

My recommendation would be to really recognize their talent and nurture those people toward advancement.
