I have been working at Follett Higher Education Group part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Individual bookstores are a fine place to work, with flexible schedules for students. Ours is like the general store with more information known about the school, than from the ASB & Admin/Records offices nearby. Because of Follett I know what outstanding customer service is all about and is so lacking in most other stores.

    Cons

Extreme Theory X management with absolutely no trust of its managers by home office. A lot of hypocrisy vis-à-vis their values. This company is nervous: it has a good, solid, fair-to-its-customers' text-rental program but behaves in a desperate manner to keep/maintain the base (current text-message program comes to mind)

    Advice to Management

You have some great managers and front line employees, because of them you are a multi-billion dollar corporation, compensate them accordingly.

  2. Overall, a good place to work, very busy during the rush
