I worked at Ford Motor Company full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Learned a lot in ten years. Experiences in hazardous waste, OSHA training, Green belt training, and the pay and benefits were enough to keep you there (Smart thinking on there part).

    Cons

Work/life balance was non-existent. Rotating shifts got old and the fewer and fewer trades to operate an older facility was becoming harder. The biggest con of all was the feeling like you were going to be beat up every time you go to work.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Went to another american auto manufacturer and found that it isn't necessary to pound someone everyday to get production out of them. That supervisors and hourly workers can work together and be productive. No need to cause dissension among the troops it doesn't work anymore. Also upper management needs to take the blame once in awhile for the mistakes they make not blame everyone around them.
