I have been working at Ford Motor Company full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Global recognizable brand with so many opportunities to travel, work with international suppliers, build things that will actually come to fruition in real products.

    Cons

Deadlines take priority over quality a lot, design by committee because there are so many people it's easier for people to deflect responsibility which in turns slow things down. Too many suppliers and not enough is done in house.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

If Ford is committed to a brand (i.e. Lincoln) they should go all in and not cut corners. It worked for cadillac, or reinvent the brand with a cool image like a real Tesla competitor. On a day-to-day there should be more direct responsibilities clearly assigned and less people in meetings to move things faster. We need a clearer vision of what tomorrow will be like and put effort behind that since the industry has recovered. There is a lot of great smart technologies at Ford but there needs to be a smarter way of tying them together with better collaboration at higher levels.
