Current Employee - Customer Service Manager in Florida (Uruguay)

I have been working at Ford Motor full-time (more than 5 years)

Pros

Ford is a very good company to work for. They do try and work with you to make your job easier

Cons

As a customer service manager for 6 yrs with the company, i think the pay could be higher for what i do and the perks could b better like after working there for 5 plus yrs we should get Ford holidays and get the option to work from home.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

They need to just listen more to the people on the front lines with the customers, we hear the customers and work with them on a daily basis and can add great input to what would assist with customer service

Current Employee - Project Engineer in Melbourne (Australia)
Current Employee - Project Engineer in Melbourne (Australia)

I have been working at Ford Motor as a contractor (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Job security, the engineering team is friendly and committed, most people there want to do a good job, plenty of travel opportunities, a good understanding of work/life balance, ability to live in Melbourne.

    Cons

Bureaucracy. The company is large which necessitates systems and processes to ensure that goals are met but the time spent attending to metrics and working with unwieldy, poorly designed systems is too great. Focus on cost which often overrides every other consideration becomes frustrating. Poorly designed offices with minimal natural light, outer suburb location.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Streamline the reporting out process, allow more time to do actual design and engineering and trust that the team is dedicated to engineering a great product. Inflationary pay increases are a bare-minimum and people get highly demotivated when salaries decrease in real terms. Performance related bonuses would help motivation. Where's your passion for exciting cars gone? Let's not become another Toyota...
