Current Employee - Head Cashier in Los Angeles, CA

I have been working at Forever 21 part-time for more than a year

Pros

This is an EXTREMELY fast paced company you are definitely always moving. A lot of people cant handle the pace of the store with the pressure of making daily target sales. Normal big box volume store get shipments almost all days except Sundays, therefore there is constant moving of merchandise from one area of the store to the other in order to meet corporate set standards.

Cons

*constant moving of merchandise
*CUSTOMERS
*long retail work hours

Positive Outlook

I worked at Forever 21 part-time for less than a year

    Pros

-Metting great friendly, fashion forward people (other co workers), upbeat environment.

    Cons

    Plain and Simple:
    -Not enough hours
-Don't give you time to give your other employer two weeks notice
-No training- just throw you in
-They tell you when you are putting "go backs" away from the fitting rooms: "if you dont know where if goes, blend it". Thats why when you go there you cant find anything, and when you're looking you just find things that are the same color/style.
-Management really talks down to new be's.
-If you want hours you have to pretty much have seniority. No guaranteed hours.
-Crazy paranoid about employees stealing (when you buy something its a HUGE pain, you have to be working at the time, have two managers approve the sale at the register and watch you walk out with the bag and look in it to make sure you didn't put anything else it it (steal).
    -Run sweat shops
-Been sued 7-10 times that I am aware of due to stealing designers designs.
-Break room smaller than a broom closet because they have SO much shipment.

I worked at Forever 21 part-time for less than a year

    Pros

I have nothing good to say.

    Cons

Horribly unprofessional management at store and district level, which is mirrored by the shift leaders. They change shifts on employees without notice then write the employees up, they curse at employees and play favorites with the "in crowd" type employees. It is like working with a high school, drama-filled, click. Hours and pay is given based on favorites instead of work ethic. The management talks down and disrespects employees and rewards and excuses lazy employees if they are the favorites.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Start respecting and valuing hard work instead of gossipy, lazy employees who really don't do the work. Try being nice and reward hard work and you will see a huge change in the caliber of employees you have, which translates to lower payroll because it is spent better, lower loss, high moral and attendance and higher sales.

    Doesn't Recommend

    No opinion of CEO
