Pros

If you love fashion, you're getting hands on experience no matter what position you fill. Friendly atmosphere. The work isn't too difficult- don't really have to think. The hours are not usually too bad. If you're in high school, looking for a way to make a little cash then this job would be great for you!

Cons

Not very fulfilling. On your feet a lot. This will probably not turn into a career. Some of the people there are a little strange/not motivated at all.

    Pros

My coworkers and management team are a delight to work with. It's a friendly and positive environment to work in. The work isn't difficult or complicated, you just need an ability to multi-task and make quick decisions in a fast-paced environment. This is a good place to gain experience if you are new to retail or the workforce. This is a good job if your are still living at home or going to school.

    Cons

The scheduling is inconsistent and solely relies on daily sales rather than the tasks at hand. One week you may work 35 hours, the next week you could be working 12. Work/life balance is difficult because your shift may get down cut due to poor sales, or you could be called in because of an unexpected rush. Corporate expects stores to exceed sales using the absolute minimum amount of payroll. The technology they use is slow and dated. Internal communication about sales events, markdowns, promos, and visual elements are given with little notice. Some, not all, management is hired from outside the company. Also, the only way you can find out about open positions if if you avidly check their hiring website. There's little recognition and appreciation for good hard-working associates.

    Advice to Management

I think there should be more motivating factors and recognition of associates, even on a small scale. Hire more from within. Maybe have a more open communication system between stores about available positions within a district so employees can be more informed about career opportunities with the company. And lastly, stop penny-pinching everything!

    Pros

Competitive salary and great benefits. Freedom to really make a room stand out and not follow corporate directions where the put the product. So if you're a visual person, you'll love this job. It definitely gives you the freedom and creativity to make your store shine. Yes there are some limitations on where product goes, but for the most part, you create the blueprint

    Cons

Closing hours could be rough at times, especially during holiday hours. If you sneeze the wrong way you will be written up. A lot of turnover with the staff.. Might as well just do your job and not be friends with anyone. If they last more than 4 months, thats an accomplishment. Discount sucks. its 10% I know the clothes are cheap as it is, but what am I saving with 10%? It could be a little more if the company wants you to dress a certain way.

    Advice to Management

Just listen to your staff, sometimes they know whats best for their location that might actually help a lot of other stores.. Dont be so focused about being behind a desk and we see things happen in th stores everyday.
