Pros

Open culture, flexible time, young people, & fast growth
Great current senior management.

Cons

Outside Senior Management.

Culture is the main reason old people are staying & new people are joining.
as it grows, fractal is hiring senior people who carries their own style & culture
Since they have developed their mindset over longer term & it's kind of stuck in their mind even after joining fractal. It's very natural for a manager to have their team slog more - "appreciating people who come early & leave late" & get credit but not for great founders who wants to build a great company.

Advice to Management

it's a very important for senior management to constantly train these people so that they don't ruin fractal culture.

"more senior the person, more culture training". "sitting long hours doing nothing", "appreciating people who come early & leave late" has become a very common in Indian IT companies which is slowing down growth. Fractal doesn't want to be one more IT company in India. Develop a mechanism to take feedback from Juniors about senior. consider it a part of appraisal.

    Pros

    Direct interaction with clients
    Good mix of MBAs, Engineers, Economists and Statisticians
    Innovations and initiatives are encouraged
    You get an overview of different domains apart from the one you're working on

    Cons

    With explosive growth, Fractal, which once used to be an exclusive club, seems to be diluting the quality of employees
    Fractal needs to seriously consider revamping the Human Resources and Information Technology divisions to deliver against the growth phase they are currently going through
    Fractal middle-layer management does not seem competent enough to handle large teams
    Project allocation is arbitrary which results in a massive loss of intellectual potential
    FTE model in some teams restricts intellectual growth since the learning curve becomes flat in a matter of months, and movement across projects/teams is difficult
    Fractal accepts a great amount of reporting work resulting a greater dissatisfaction
    You will not be satisfied here if you are looking to do real analytics
    Most work here is 70% data processing, 20% reporting and 10% domain knowledge
    Payscale is abyssmal

    Advice to Management

    It's time for Fractal to move from Analytics to Business Consulting. Fractal should focus on building products instead of selling services. Fractal needs to increase it's payscale significantly(by atleast 50%) if they want to hire quality people else be contended with mediocre employees

    Pros

    A place which is- Very young and vibrant, Has lots of career opportunities, Growing at a great pace, Well placed in the industry

    Cons

    Support functions need to keep pace with the quality and growth of the Organization.
    Compensation can be increased to justify the position in the industry.

    Advice to Management

    Currently headed in a right direction!
    Be cautious in expanding the organization, do not compromise on the culture or the quality.
