Pros

Very laid back. If you don't get something done, no one cares.. and there are no reprecussions. That is just the environment from the top down.

Cons

No growth. They get some decent young talent in, but it never lasts. It is a tight knit upper management who has been there since the early planner days and is just hanging onto the ride until it ends. Horrible foresight. An Analog company in a Digital age.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

You have some great oppurtunities and messages. It is just to bad that the company selling this stuff is a polar opposite of everything it preaches.

    Some outstanding people. Great products.

    Like any company, there are dysfunctions between departments and teams. Sometimes the focus is too internal and not enough on the customer.

    Pros

    Its a very professional environment for a retail job. Lots of chances to meet highly successful people and network. Very personalized and one on one sales so it doesn't feel like a robotic cashiers job. Most of the customers who come in are intelligent and respectful taking your advice seriously which makes it feel like a

    Cons

    You are judged primarily by your average sale which is dictated by corporate to be in the 50-60$ range. There is so much pressure and constant nagging to maintain those numbers which leads the sales people to get stressed out and try to push useless stuff on customers just to add a dollar to the average sale. Management does not take into account that sometimes circumstances (time of day, economy, etc.) make those goals impossible.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Corporate: Listen to the people who are working in your retail stores. They understand the products, know what sells and what doesn't. We have conversations with people all day long about what they're looking for in organizational products, and could offer so much advice on how to improve the marketing efforts and the products themselves.
