I have been working at Franklin Templeton Investments full-time (more than 5 years)

Pros

High ethics, nice campus, great benefits, especially the retirement plan. Top leadership is solid. Good people for the most part with a few exceptions.

Cons

Some mid-upper level management is too entrenched and long-tenured. They have lost touch was anything other than the Franklin way of doing things. Performance reviews are not 360 reviews.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Implement 360 reviews. Some mid/upper management are cronies and will have each others' backs no matter what, and protect each other, even if it is to the detriment of the company's interests. Good people for the most part but completely shielded from any genuine constructive criticism.

DOWNRIGHT DYSFUNCTIONAL - work 80 hours a week for dollar store salary, complete disrespect and plenty of lies

I have been working at Franklin Templeton Investments full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

    60 years established corporation
    solid ability to save money

    Cons

downright dysfunctional & full of lies, no respect

80 hour work weeks for the little people, (don't believe the "7.5 hour day" lies)
below cheap salaries and non-existent raises (it will be about 1-2% a year at BEST!)

at the same time - watch management drive luxury cars and go on vacation and show up one day a month

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

take a survey of how your non-management people feel.

turnover here is disgustingly high - not happy here with their pay or the corporate two-faced disrespect from management

get some VALUES AND MORALS and learn how to treat HUMANS like humans

I have been working at Franklin Templeton Investments full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Laid back, few nice people, very good pension, good location (London office)

    Cons

Slowest pace I have ever experienced in finance related environment, lowest salaries in Asset MGT industry in UK, especially if you are not on managerial position, too much red-tape and office politics going on, you have to stay here for at least 10 years to be promoted or achieve anything, very biased knowledge distribution and approach to talented people wanting to grow, lack of personnel and communication skills in med-senior level managers, generalist approach for pretty much everything.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Promote for merit and talent not for the years in service, get more creative marketing people, loose restrictions and bias, shed numerous idle jobs in various departments and use this money for training.
