I have been working at Fred Meyer part-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

decent pay/benefits- starting benefits are decent, but you have to wait for seniority to get the upgraded package. Mostly friendly workplace environment. decent enough openings to move around in business, or transfer to a store closer to you if you move.

    Cons

artificial limitation of 40 hour week availabilities (x number offered, other only get 24 or 12 hour per week minimums) training mostly limited to watching one video and then signing a paper, not very much hands-on

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

be careful on the bookend scheduling, some work up to 9 days in a row because of bad foresight. Failing to train your employees sets them up to fail from the onset of their career.
